Paddling enthusiasts will enjoy the opportunities offered on Clearwater and Azure Lakes. The two big lakes are connected by the Clearwater River and provide an easy canoe route between them. Other than paddling on the lakes, activities that can be enjoyed include fishing and hiking. A popular site on Azure Lake is the Rainbow Falls found near the eastern shore. For the explorer at heart, a trail from the northwest corner of Azure Lake travels overland to Hobson Lake, deep within the park interior. There are approximately 33 water access only campsites available on Clearwater Lake and 21 sites on Azure Lake.
Dunn Lake (F7)
Open Map A
This long, deep lake can be found via the Dunn Lake Road just east of Little Fort. The scenic lake offers fishing opportunities for rainbow trout, lake trout, bull trout and the odd Kokanee. Due to the depth of this lake, the water remains fairly cool through the summer, enabling successful fishing through much of the season. Trolling is the most effective fishing method, especially in the heat of the summer. There is a resort on the southern shore of the lake and a recreation site with a car top boat launch along the northern shore.

Laurel Lake can be reached by a short trail from the Taweel Road west of Little Fort. The lake is a productive fly fishing lake inhabited by numerous small rainbow trout. The odd rainbow can reach up to 2 kg (4.5 lbs), however that is a trophy for this lake. Try working chironomids off the shoal areas in the spring. There are a few hike-in lakes beyond Laurel Lake that see few people and as a result are excellent fishing.
