At Alpine, we want to share our love of the beautiful BC wilderness and our long tradition of hospitality with all of our visitors. In order to ensure that each of our guests has the most enjoyable and memorable vacation with us, we’ve provided the answers to the most frequently asked questions about Alpine Meadows Resort. Feel free to contact us directly if you need some more information!

How do I get to the resort?

Alpine Meadows hosts Canadian and International guests all of whom drive themselves to the resort arriving from various points such as Vancouver, Whistler, Jasper, 100 Mile House, and more on a daily basis. As a wilderness resort, the road to Alpine Meadows may differ from what you are used to and it’s worth noting that the resort is accessed via a mountain road which is partial gravel. We recommend planning ahead and driving to the resort during daylight hours. Please be sure to visit “getting here” on our website or feel free to email us for detailed directions from your point of origin.

Please note: we do NOT recommend relying solely on GPS devices which have proven unreliable in this area, Google Maps tends to be more accurate.

Should you plan on arriving later than 9pm, please contact us in advance to make check in arrangements, dinner reservations may not be available for late arrivals.

How far is Alpine Meadow located from the Wells GrayPark?

Approximately 24 km to the information centre for Wells Gray Park. Drive time from the resort to the Information centre is approximately: 40 mins. Drive time from the resort to Helmcken Falls is approximately: 90 minutes.

Do you have a restaurant on site?

Our restaurant, The Boathouse, is open daily for breakfast and dinner, hours vary dependent upon occupancy levels. Dinner is by reservation only. Please feel free to email us to inquire about reservation availability.

What are the kitchens equipped with?

Do you have a grocery store at Alpine Meadows Resort?

We do not have a store at our resort. Buy Low Foods in Clearwater Village is the closest grocery store. If you have booked a room with a kitchen, we suggest you provision in advance of your arrival to the resort.

Do we have to worry about bears being around?

Occasionally we do have Black Bears in our area and are treated to the sight of them passing through or eating berries both on the property and on the road leading to/from the resort. Guests should be Bear Aware as Bears are wild creatures and should never be fed and should be given their space. We recommend bringing a Bear Bell for your walks and hiking.

Are there mosquitoes at the resort?

As we are in the wilderness, you will find mosquitoes and other bugs and critters in our area. We recommend mosquito repellent with DEET of 25% or higher.
